What I am up to these 2 weeks...
some people are asking me what I have been doing since I am starting work only next week... Here is what I have been working on - doing a "makeover" for the CRuSH Cyber Wellness Centre... doing some permanent displays and seasonal (sports theme) decorations for my spiritual father yc & CRuSH team. been kindda busy...
but i got to know more abt what YC is doing and get to know some boys who frequent the place... was nice to interact with the end-users and know what younger generations are into nowadays... im really not the gaming sort... but i think i nd to really brush up on some skills to connect & mentor the next generation (sounds old, like already have generation gap)...
would write more when I have time. gotta sleep now if not tmrw i would not be able to wake up. :p training my bioclock up for work

baby gracia!!!
YEAH~~~~
the baby girl (Gracia) of a very dear sister of mine Lindee is born today!!!!!! Both mum & child healthy!
SO SO HAPPY FOR HER & Johnson!!! CONGRATES LINDEE!!!

believe God has answered our prayers for lindee & gracia as I was talking to my colleague in bs, she said she spent 20 hours to give birth to her son.... WOW.... 20 hrs... amazing...
God has definitely bless her delivery short & smooth compare to my colleague's experience...
Ba4 zhang3 & kimchi
counting down to the no. of days that I can go back to Taiwan...
I've always missed my grandma's homemade ba4 zhang3 (chinese duan1 wu3 jie2 glutinous rice dumpling (hokkien style))... it has a flavor that no other shop's ba4 zhang3 can replace...
this is a belated post, Ms Yeo was very sweet & thotful to give me a ba4 zhang3 that her mum made, it's nice... my 1st ba4 zhang3 for the year 2006. I had 1 fr her last yr as well... she was really thotful to remember tt im away fr home and do not have the luxury of eating this... it's yummy with all the ingredients for hokkien dumpling, but sadly it just does not have the touch of my grandma... sob...
maybe this trip back, shld get my grandma to impart me her skill of making this... know it's real troublesome to make and not easy to make it well... but, i'll try i guess, to make it a common fond memory with my grandma and not to lose such a precious family dish.

had been watching Da4 Chang2 Jin1... and once at dinner recently, Lydia let me try the kimchi she made... WOW... it's like 惊为天人！ it's very nice...and i made her tell me the recipe so i can try making... therefore, she became my shi1 fu4....
so here it is, my first try!!! with the help of one of my gals - Yanxia who's real gifted in cooking... we shared many common interest in cooking...
though i did get a few things cut in the wrong size and soaked for wrong timing, it still turned out pretty okay! hahaha

weddings & babies...
recently, i've attended quite a few weddings of good friends... i think 4 weddings in 3 mths... sometimes i wish i've started working... really happy for these frens as God leads them into marriage... :)
as i shared lindee's joy in seeing her tummy getting bigger & bigger day by day, im so excited too, that Gracia's coming soon!!! even more glad to hear that a gd fren is also pregnant!!! wow...
one of my dreams is to become a joyful mum of spiritual & physical children... i love children esply babies haha!!! but of course the greatest satisfaction is to see your children grown up to be men & women of God...
it's such an exciting journey to grow to become a mum & bring up many children in the ways of the Lord... but knowing that it's NOT an easy task to give birth/ bring up children... Saw Kengwah's wife's photo immediately after her child birth... giving birth is REALLY NO small business... I believe spiritual birth's the same as well... thk God it's God's Spirit who convicts... we have to labor in love still...
well i guess for now my prayer is that God'll help me to become ready... first bearing spiritual children, later in His timing, physical ones!

Cooking Portugese Dessert "Rice Cream" with my BS girls - Yanxia & Hu Wei...
This is Hu Wei...
& this is Yanxia...
Ingredients of Portugese Dessert:
- Rice
- Milk
- Cinnamon (stick & powder)
- orange peel
- optional: Raisin & chocolate chips
Goes well with coffee/tea!
could be served in small cups or in ball size, could be served hot or chilled...
the dish is specially done & decorated by Hu Wei... isn't it beautiful? :) Like some cafe serving...The darker ones are actually rolled with chocolate chips...

"Recently, my wife and i picked up a stray mother cat and her three 1 week old kittens. They were all suffering from cat flu and the kittens almost didn't make it past the next week.
Fortunately, with her constant attention, the mother cat is now cured, spayed and back on the streets. The ginger kitten has been adopted, but the other two haven't had much luck. As much as i would like to keep them, I've already got 7 other felines in the house.They're now about a month and a half old and we're still looking for adopters. "

11-14 May 2006 EJ 288 re-encounter personal reflection:
- Love of Family
It was initially not easy for me to “bring myself” to Melaka when I started having fever few hours before our departure, with the high fever, running nose, headache, toothache continued through the journey there.
At some instances when I felt really terrible physically, I doubted if I had made a wrong decision to come. But I was very touched and felt better by the love I received from the family - adele who gave up her travel pillow for me to sleep more comfortably, Yvonne who gave up her more ventilated seat & helped me hold water bottle, jasmine who volunteered to buy porridge, someone sorry I cant rem who, bought drink for me when we stopped over, cc who carried my bag, yp who made milo & smuggled garlic bread fr buffet, Mirabel who came by a few times to see me, Ps Yo & the rest of my group who checked on me from time to time if I was feeling ok when we were out in Melaka, etc.
I got quite frustrated and angery with Julee & Mirabel when the dinner I asked them to help me get came back late before we went for 1st nite prayer meeting, and the scripture pastor shared made me realise I needed to deal with my anger and self-centredness with God, and guard my tough so as not to allow Satan to breaking down the unity in the body of Christ.
- Strengthening In Faith On God’s Healing Power
The 2-day continuous fever experience had made me able to empathise with a pre-believing colleague of mine in BS who’s been having fever and a lot of body discomforts for months since she came to Singapore. Before I went for Re-encounter, I was having some doubt if God would heal her if I were to invite her to church.
When Ps Eugene & Ps Julie prayed for those who were unwell on Day 2 and Day 3 when Stella prayed for me that I wouldn’t need tissue for my running nose, I experienced the miraculous healing of God as fever subsided when we came back from Melaka exploration trip, and no running nose on Day 3. I have gained faith through this experience to invite my BS colleague to church service who’s been unwell and doc could not help her with anything.
- Healing of Past Hurts & restoration work of God’s image of woman in me
One thing that I had never expected God to spoke and worked during this trip was the revelation of how my dad’s past absence in Singapore actually had wounded me and affected my perception of how a woman should be. Holy Spirit reminded me of something I shared with my group during lunch to show me that there was a sadness and helplessness in me to have to take on parental roles of my dad and mum over my younger brothers when I recalled my sec sch & jc days.
God used what Ps Julie shared about God created image of men & women in His image to speak to me about the need to restore my self-image as how God created it to be. I was so touched by His Spirit’s work that I was crying even before ministry time started.
It was quite hard initially to share this with YC for him to pray for me though I knew that was what I needed to do – It took me quite a step of faith overcome fear to stand in front of him, and to verbalise the pains and hurts from my dad in front of my spiritual father. By the grace of God when I started to tell YC, I experienced great healing of God in this area even before YC prayed over me.
With the healing of God on Day 2 night of the distorted view I found myself in originally, the sharing by Ps Julie & various sisters who shared on God’s intended image of women (Day 3) was timely, enabled me to learn and receive what God intends me to be as a woman. I learnt so much from the sharing of the sisters and glad to have chance to know pastor Yo better and sisters from other networks.
I felt the whole re-encounter (exploration of melaka + homogeneous sharing + the dinner + waltz dance + worship) was a very interesting and memorable structured learning experience that have caused a change of culture and perception of youthnet family towards one another (from opposite genders). I think we should have such “structured training experience” for our next level too…
I learnt to better appreciate brothers among us and for God’s image in them during the dinner. It was also fun to see all the people dancing, and for myself, to dance with my spiritual father YC was one kind of experience that’s very memorable – reminding me of Greek weddings somehow where family members dance together during reception… haha.

wondering what to do next...Pavilion for Singapore Biennale 2006?
"Organized by the National Arts Council, Singapore Biennale 2006 will take place from 4 September to 12 November 2006. This is the country's first international showcase of contemporary visual arts. Any student from Year 1 to 5 are eligible to apply. The task will take place and complete in July 2006. "

yes... it's finally over... or well, one can say tt im almost there. 22nd may to hand up hardbound copy and that's it.
wrote in to hope to participate in this biennale.... not sure if i can get it (they take only 20 ppl), but it'll be definitely an experience to wking hands on with an architect & his paper architecture that i've researched on... :) admire his spirit of experimention with paper as a structural building material to the extent that he managed to get japan bldg laws to pass regulation for that....
not many archi stuffs or architects thrills me nowadays (i really have no interests in taking part in competitions... )- but the thot of wking w Shigeru Ban seems exciting to me! :D yeah.... and he's one of those who started this voluntary architect netwk... http://www.shigerubanarchitects.com/

As part of this event, Shigeru Ban* and Richard Ho** are collaborating to erect a pavilion at SMU Park, Bras Brasah. Shigeru Ban has specifically requested for the pavilion to be built with the help of 20 architecture students from the Department of Architecture at the National University of Singapore. This is a rare opportunity to work with two renowned architects on the execution of a project in Singapore.
